アメリカ現代史の陰を知るには、欠かせない一冊「ゴッド・ファーザー」

  この書を読まずして、アメリカ社会を、そして、マフィアの誕生は理解できない。 　ゴッド・ファーザーは、アメリカの作家、マリオ・プーゾが１９６９年に発表した作品。 日本では早川書房から、一ノ瀬直二さんの訳で出版された。 全２冊の文庫本である。 　そして、その後１９７２年に映画化され、大ヒットしたことは、その主題歌「ゴッドファーザー　愛のテーマ」とともに、皆さま周知のことであろう。 　確かに、映画も良かったが、原作には、さらに奥行きがある。 　貧しいイタリア移民の兄弟が、第二次大戦後のアメリカに渡り、家族を守り、生き抜くための知恵として、法の網をかすめる稼業に手を染めていくうちに、「ドン」と崇められるボス的存在になっていく物語である。 今は、よく知られている、いわゆるマフィアの「ファミリー」が形成され、その頭領であるドンというものが生まれた背景が、そして、その存在が、どういう性格のものかは、この書を読まずしては、理解できない。 当時のアメリカ社会でのイタリア移民の立場、そして、家族を守り生き抜くための術としての、非合法の稼業に身を投じていく姿が、リアリズム満点のタッチで、且つ、一の瀬直二さんの名訳で、叙情豊かに描かれている。 　小説の内容は、映画では、ほぼ第一作に相当するが、内容的には「ゴッドファーザー」は単なるギャングの抗争をテーマにしたものではなく、家族の愛憎とファミリーを守ろうとする男たちの姿が主要なテーマになっている。 　そこには、異民族を抱えてきたことがない日本人には理解が困難なアメリカ社会の成り立ち、ファミリーの役割が、見えてくる。 ファミリーのキーワードは、兄弟愛、夫婦愛、親子愛、同胞愛である。 　私は、今でも、色褪せない名作だと思い色褪せた本になったが、時折見返している。

ゲーム全体として面白いです。
店主を脅迫したりするシステムはとても面白かった。
部下も自ら選んでスカウトできるのもいい。
トロフィーも簡単に取得できる点もよかった。
操作性も悪くはない。
ロードも早い。

不満点といえば、
ほかの方のレビューにも書かれてますが、
一般人を襲えないのは痛い。
これはEAが自主規制しているのかわかりませんが、
とても勿体無いと感じたのは私だけでしょうか…

暇潰しに友人に何かオススメがないか聞いたところ、この作品を勧められたので購入しました。

操作性等はグラセフとほぼ変わらず、グラセフをやった事がある方であればそこまで抵抗無くプレイ出来るはずです。

レビュータイトルの惜しいというのはやはり…規制のせいですね…。
海外版を買えば良いとは思いますがやはりストーリーは楽しみたいので…。

規制が無ければ★5にしても良い位…なんですが。

『Grand Theft Auto』や『Saints Row』などがお好きな方は、原作を知らなくても楽しめるゲームだと思います。

映画の主人公はマイケルですが、ゲームの主人公はあくまでも汚い裏の仕事を遂行する手下なので、原作のマフィアの美学?のような重厚なものを求めると期待ハズレに終わるかもしれません。

格闘シーンはフィニッシュホールドにこだわる日本人向きじゃないかなと思います。 すべて読む

やっぱり一般人が死なないところはダメだと思います。誤って車でひいてしまってもフワッとして生きてるのはやはり醒めます。道端で賭け（？）をしている一般人から金を奪ったら反撃してくるのですが、相手は一般人なんで不死身なんですよね。何のための年齢制限なのか疑問。。。その点、前作は良かったなぁ。

車のホーンの使い分けについて。皆様、車のホーンの音ってどう使い分けてますか？挨拶：○！注意：○－！どいてー：○○○，○－！ゴルア：○－－－－－－－－－－！なんて感じに使い分けていますが、時々とても気分を害されてる方に遭います。（流石に挨拶ホーンは通常使いませんが。。。）もしかして、こういうのは地域の慣習なども結構あるんでしょうか？これがエアホーンだとまた意味合いが違ってくるかなあ。できれば、皆様の居住地域とホーンの使い方パターンを挙げてみてください。あ、私は神奈川県です。ＰＳ．そいえば、最近はゴッドファーザー聞かなくなったな。。。

Ａ.最近ではホーンを使わない方も増えたようですが、私の場合も鳴らします。挨拶：「・」（ホーンスイッチを軽く叩く程度と言うか、瞬間的に鳴る程度）注意（信号が変わったよ、など）：「・」（挨拶と同じ）どいてー：どいての場合は使いません。ゴルア：--------------------------！！！但し相手を見て鳴らす私は、小心者です。（笑）
